Job Title: Staff Accountant with Accounts Receivable Focus

Location: South Sacramento, CA (Onsite)
Schedule: Full-time, onsite.

Compensation: $32 - 36/hr DOE

About the Role

Ledgent, a Roth Staffing Company, is partnering with a reputable client in the South Sacramento area to recruit a Staff Accountant who has a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a similar major, with a strong emphasis on Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with detailed financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable Management:
    • Process and apply cash receipts for multiple regions.
    • Post AR journal entries accurately and timely.
    • Handle credit card refunds, adjustments, and inter-region transfers.
  • Cash Management & Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile bank statements and cash accounts using Microsoft Excel with proficiency.
    • Prepare and post cash-related journal entries.
  • General Accounting Duties:
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
    • Maintain and track fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules.
    • Post payroll journal entries and ensure accuracy in related accounts.
  • Reporting & Compliance:
    • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Support internal audits and provide documentation as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related major.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Receivable.
    • 1+ year of experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month end close.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
